SELECT CHARACTERISTICS

Population data in the following tables are from the 2000 census. Civilian labor force data are adjusted to the Current Population Survey (CPS) statistics which are developed and provided by the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

The civilian labor force sub-categories for race and sex are based on relationships found in the 2000 census. The total race category will not usually equal the sum of the racial sub-items because of the presence of other racial groups in those areas. The total for other racial groups is considered to be statistically insignificant and, therefore, not shown. There are, however, tables for the Hispanic population for areas which had a Hispanic population of 400 or more in 2000.

Civilian labor force (CLF) is defined as all persons 16 years of age and over who are classified as employed or as unemployed and seeking employment or as involved in a labor-management dispute.
