West Virginia’s skilled and flexible work force has earned a reputation for dedication, loyalty and low absenteeism. The Governor’s Guaranteed Work Force Program provides financial and technical assistance to West Virginia’s new and expanding businesses that meet program requirements, for the purpose of training, retraining, or upgrading the skills of their existing or new employees. The program emphasizes employee training specifically designed to accommodate the needs of individual employers. In fiscal year 2008, 6,343 employees at 91 West Virginia companies received training through the Governor’s Guaranteed Work Force Program.

To be eligible to receive funding, a company must provide documentation that they are compliant with the West Virginia Department of Tax and Revenue, Unemployment Compensation, and Worker's Compensation.

To learn more about how the Governor’s Guaranteed Work Force Program can assist your company, please call (304) 558-7027 or email trainingapplication@workforcewv.org.
